CRS medical is giving away a ZOLL AED 3® to ensure greater cardiac safety in the region!

Reiskirchen-Hattenrod volunteer fire department is delighted with the prize worth 2,460 euros!

Over the Advent season, users had the opportunity to take part in a total of four CRS medical raffles via Instagram and Facebook as part of the CRS Advent calendar. While the first prizes included prizes from CRS medical partners, the last prize draw was for an automated external defibrillator (AED) from ZOLL® worth EUR 2,460, including instruction. After the draw, it was clear: Christoph Riedmann won the ZOLL AED 3® for the Reiskirchen-Hattenrod volunteer fire department. This AED was recently handed over in Reiskirchen-Hattenrod and will make the region heart-safe in the future.

Every year, over 100,000 patients die from sudden cardiac death. 80% of cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital. The patient's chance of survival can be significantly increased if appropriate first aid measures can be initiated at an early stage, such as chest compressions and the use of an AED. An AED is specially designed for amateurs. During the first aid measures, the rescuer is guided step by step by the device so that uncertainties and incorrect behavior can be prevented in an emergency. An AED should be used as soon as a person is unconscious, is not breathing normally or shows no pulse or other signs of life. After switching on the device, the rescuer is first reminded to check the patient's breathing and make an emergency call. This is followed by precise instructions on where to place the electrodes on the body and the rhythm of the chest compressions.

In addition to the ZOLL AED 3®, the prize also includes instruction on the device

This week saw the handover of the AED, during which CRS medical personally provided on-site instruction on the device. Once the device has been trained, the AED is ready for use and will ensure cardiac safety in the region. Thanks to Christoph Riedmann, the Reiskirchen-Hattenrod fire station now has a lifesaver. But it's not just the fire department that benefits from the win. The adjacent fairground, where many events with large numbers of visitors take place, is also protected thanks to its proximity to the fire station. It is important to raise awareness of the issue. By raising awareness of the issue and the widespread distribution of AEDs, many lives can be saved every year.

CRS medical has developed the ErstHelden app so that anyone can check whether there is an AED nearby in an emergency. In an emergency, it shows where the nearest AED is located and whether it is accessible and ready for use. The ErstHelden app is available free of charge in the App Store and Playstore for iOS and Android devices.
