CRS medical hands over 60 defibrillators to regional associations as part of the "Lifesavers" funding competition

Volksbank Mittelhessen has raffled off 60 lifesavers to regional associations

As part of the "Lifesavers" promotional competition, Volksbank Mittelhessen raffled off 60 defibrillators totalling 100,000 euros to regional associations. CRS medical was on site as a partner for this raffle and was responsible for the allocation and professional instruction of the devices.

The devices are automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which can also be operated by laypersons and save lives in an emergency. Quick action is required in the event of sudden cardiac death. In addition to chest compressions and artificial respiration, the use of a defibrillator can save lives. The funding competition gave regional associations the opportunity to apply for just such a device. The draw for the lucky winning clubs was organised by Volksbank Mittelhessen in a livestream some time ago.

The award ceremony for the devices took place on 30 June in Giessen in the forum of Volksbank Mittelhessen. During the event, the 60 defibrillators, including the cabinet, were handed over to the clubs. During the event, CRS medical instructed the club representatives on how to operate the devices. They were told how to behave in an emergency and how the AED guides them through the emergency situation in just a few steps. The instruction was illustrated using special training dummies and a training device. Any questions the participants had could be discussed directly during the event. After the event, participants had the opportunity to find out more about first aid at other stands. The aim of the sponsorship competition was to increase the number of defibrillators at meeting points with high visitor frequency, such as clubhouses or sports grounds, as defibrillators can be vital in the event of a cardiovascular arrest. We are delighted that the Volksbank Mittelhessen funding programme has made it possible to make a further 60 clubs in the region heart-safe.
