CRS medical focuses on digitalisation as a firm pillar of the company
Reflection, growth, further development - three key values at CRS medical. The management of CRS medical regularly takes time to take an outside view and reflect on existing processes and structures with the aim of optimising them. One of the results of this further development is the growth of recent years. Despite the global pandemic, we can proudly report that 36 new employees were hired last year and that not a month has gone by so far this year without a new hire.
One of the biggest lessons that can already be learned from the coronavirus crisis is that many companies have some catching up to do when it comes to digitalisation. At CRS medical, digitalisation has long been at the top of the agenda, which is why many of the foundations had already been laid and some departments were able to switch to working from home within a few hours in March 2020. Nevertheless, as with most companies, there were still challenges that needed to be overcome. For precisely this reason, the digital transformation must not happen by chance or only when there is a specific need, but rather must be implemented proactively at an early stage and in a coordinated manner.
In order to make CRS medical fit for the future, the new "Digitalisation & Communication" division was therefore created this month, which builds on the existing digital structures and develops them further. In particular, the foresight to supplement existing business models with "Digital Services" and to develop new digital business models with the operational business units is an important component of "Digitalisation & Communication". Juliane Frey will be responsible for this new area as Director Digitalisation & Communication.
In addition to digitalisation topics, CRS medical is therefore also placing a high priority on communication, which includes traditional marketing activities as well as corporate culture and change management, as communication is more important than ever, especially in times of home offices, flexible working and virtual teams.
Another development within our company is the creation of CRS Consulting. Marcel Vila Wagner, who will hold this position, will act as an internal consultant for regulatory issues and service processes. One current topic, for example, is the MDR (Medical Device Regulation), which came into force in May 2021. This will increase the regulatory requirements in the medical technology industry, which also means that many established processes and procedures will have to be adapted for CRS medical. It is therefore an advantage to have an internal expert who is very familiar with these topics and can advise accordingly.
All of these structural developments go hand in hand with spatial changes, which focus on creating communication and meeting places. However, we will report on these changes in more detail as soon as they are actually implemented.
